OUR STORY

Sowmanasya Hospital was founded by Dr. Indrani Gopalakrishnan and Dr. G. Gopalakrishnan with the aim of catering to individuals with mental illness and their families, as well as those experiencing psychological distress without a specific diagnosis, children with behavioural or academic issues, and the elderly facing psychological or behavioural challenges. Despite being in the private sector, the hospital fearlessly embarked on this journey in the 1980s to provide a non-judgmental space and compassionate support to these underserved populations, offering holistic solutions that went beyond medication.
Throughout our remarkable journey, we have faced both highs and lows, but our dedication to providing efficient and affordable mental healthcare to individuals across all age groups and societal backgrounds has remained unwavering. Sowmanasya Hospital continues to strive towards our mission of delivering comprehensive mental health services, addressing the diverse needs of our clients, and fostering their overall well-being.
