"Transforming Mental Health with Compassion and Hope"
Project: Gunasheelam Rehablitation Center
The Gunaseelam Rehabilitation Center, established by Sowmanasya Hospital in 2003, is located at the Gunaseelam Sri Prasanna Venkatachalapathy Temple in Trichy, Tamil Nadu. This centre is a testament to the harmonious integration of faith and allopathic medicine in addressing mental health issues. The temple, with its historical significance dating back to the Chola period, has been a place where devotees gather seeking solace and answers to their mental health concerns for many decades.
At the Gunaseelam Rehabilitation Center, we believe in treating people and their families with utmost compassion, ensuring a humane approach to their care. Our dedicated team, led by Dr. Gopalakrishnan, continues to provide services on a voluntary basis, demonstrating a strong commitment to improving mental health outcomes.
Through this unique initiative, we have developed a comprehensive management plan that combines the power of faith and evidence-based allopathic treatments. Our aim is to bring about positive changes in individuals’ mental health by providing personalised care, therapy, counselling, and rehabilitation services within the serene and spiritual environment of the Gunaseelam temple.
The Gunaseelam Rehabilitation Center serves as a beacon of hope, demonstrating that a holistic approach encompassing both faith and modern medicine can effectively address mental health challenges, fostering healing and well-being for individuals and their families.
